The mystery around season 2 of “Why Women Kill” was cleverly maintained so far but the first information has just fallen: the series will indeed be anthological, with a new story, new characters and new actors.
Since the broadcast of the first season of Why Women Kill last fall on CBS All Access and then in the spring at home on M6 with great success, we knew nothing about season 2, however quickly ordered. The shooting is finally getting ready and the first news is starting to fall. As had been implied, the series will take the form of an anthology for the sequel and will therefore focus on a new story, with new characters and a new cast as well.
The theme for season 2 will be beauty, according to information reported by Deadline, “what it means to be beautiful, the truth and the pains behind the facade, the consequences of being ignored or underestimated when one is not considered “beautiful enough” by society and to what extent a woman can go to feel finally accepted“The action should take place entirely in 1949 this time and not over several periods.
The first two comedians announced are Allison Tolman, a face increasingly familiar to series fans with her roles in Fargo season 1, Emergence and Good Girls; and Nick Frost, the Brit currently on Truth Seekers. They will form a couple, Alma and Bertramn, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, of course. Alma is a reserved, optimistic housewife whose dream is to marry her daughter. But her world falls apart when she discovers her husband’s secret hobby, described as “terrible” but kept secret for now. He is a man of joyful appearance, generous and passionate about animals. Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin and Kirby Howell-Baptiste are not expected to be in the game.
