A little over a year after the successful broadcast of the first season on M6, Why Women Kill is back for a highly anticipated season 2 which debuts today in the United States on Paramount + and will be available in France in US + 24 on the Salto platform from tomorrow, Friday June 4.
The series created by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives) being an anthology, this new season of 10 episodes will tell a whole new story, which will take place entirely in 1949 (exit therefore the plot developed over three different eras as in season 1) and will be carried by new actors, including Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time) and Allison Tolman (Fargo, Emergence). Since Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, or Alexandra Daddario do not come back.
As revealed in the trailer visible in the player above, these new episodes will follow the daily life of Alma (Allison Tolman), a reserved and optimistic housewife who dreams of joining a prestigious botany club where the the most upscale women in her community. And in parallel seeks desperately to marry his daughter.
Unfortunately for her, Alma will have a hard time being accepted by the members of the club, and in particular by Rita (Lana Parrilla), the queen of this elitist group, who is the wife of Carlo Castillo, a rich, Machiavellian man. , and aged. Rita is only waiting for one thing: for her husband to die. And, in the meantime, she is entertained in the arms of a young lover, Scooter, played by Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters).
It is therefore a duel at the top that could well begin between Rita and Alma, in the purest tradition of Desperate Housewives and the first season of Why Women Kill. But Alma will quickly see her world fall apart when she will eventually discover the terrible secret hobby of her husband Bertram (Nick Frost).
