Ryan Coogler also remembered the presentation of the first teaser of Black Panther at the 2017 Comic-con stating “JI feel his hand on my shoulder right now“before continuing: “Chad’s passion and genius, his culture and the impact he had on this industry will forever be“.
“We put our love for Chadwick into Black Panther 2. We also put our passion into it. There is action and humor. It’s also a film in the form of a roller coaster. He’s going to new places in Wakanda we’ve never been before, but also to other corners of the MCU..”
A reference to the presence of Namor, the ruler of the sunken kingdom of Atlantis, whose arrival teases the start of Marvel‘s Phase 5.
Black Panther 2: who is Namor?
For her part, Lupita Nyong’o spoke and confirmed “The universe of Wakanda is expanding and you can expect a lot“.
Then asked by The Hollywood Reporterthe actress explains:Making this movie is a powerful statement in itself, and I’m very proud that we made it.” “It was therapeutic. It gave me a sense of hope and I think we’ve expanded the world of Wakanda in a way that’s going to blow people away – not just Wakanda but the world of Black Panther.“
An impact on the world
Tenoch Huertawho plays Namor in Wakanda Forever said: “I want to say something very quick about inclusion. I come from the suburbs. And thanks to inclusion, here I am. I wouldn’t be here without inclusion and a lot of children are here, in their neighborhood, watching us, dreaming of being here. And they can make it happen.”
For her part, the actress Dominique Thornea newcomer to the Black Panther Universe, points out: “I think we all know how indelible, indescribable the impact of Black Panther on the world is, physical, emotional, mental and above all spiritual. So to be part of this film and highlight these beautiful stories, is a blessing.“.
Black Panther 2: Iron Man’s replacement in the casting
As a reminder, Dominique Thorne plays Riri Williams alias Ironheart, a new heroine who should replace Iron Man in future MCU films. It’s for her that Shuri forges a heart in the trailer above.
But the question that was on everyone’s lips obviously concerned the identity of the replacement or replacement for Chadwick Boseman, who can be seen from behind at the end of the trailer.

The only glimpse of the new Black Panther
Who will be the new Black Panther?
At the microphone of MTV, Letitia Wright claims that the identity of the new Black Panther won’t be revealed until the film’s release while Lupita Nyong’o adds:
Our duty sheets did not have a number 1. That spot was reserved for Chadwick. He was with us.
An affirmation which therefore seems to confirm the statements of Kevin Feigethe President of Marvel Studios, who announced in December 2020 about Chadwick Boseman: ” His interpretation of T’Challa the Black Panther is emblematic (…) That’s why we will not reassign the role“.
Asked about the pivotal moment in the trailer that teases the arrival of someone wearing the Black Panther costume, Lupita Nyong’o adds, “Don’t you love a good secret?“.
Speculation therefore remains in order, but do not expect to have the answer before November 9, 2022.
