Warning, spoilers. The following paragraphs reveal small elements of episode 7 of WandaVision.
Since the launch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the famous Stan Lee, author and cartoonist of Marvel comics, has taken advantage of his status as executive producer on several films and his aura to make cameos in several film and television adaptations of the Marvel Universe. . Having become a tradition, his one-off appearance in each of the MCU’s films was still expected around the corner until his passing in 2018. Calling Stan Lee a“irreplaceable”, Victoria Alonso, vice president of Marvel Studios, explained to Miami Latin News thatthere would be no other author cameos in the future.
But his disappearance does not prevent screenwriters, directors and producers from paying homage to him in one way or another. This is particularly the case in the Marvel Studios WandaVision series, centered on Scarlet Witch (Elizabehth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), available on Disney +. In the seventh episode, set in the 2000s and paying homage to the mockumentary sitcoms Modern Family and The Office, among others, a little nod to Stan Lee slipped into the credits of the series.

Wanda’s first name is displayed in different forms, on a VHS tape, in the cloud, on a cake, on a computer keyboard but also on a license plate. On the latter is inscribed a series of six figures: 122822. These numbers are actually a date of birth (inverted in the American style): December 28, 1922. This is the date of birth of Stan Lee! A little wink that allows to honor the memory of the famous author and designer who was very invested in the MCU.
