Volkswagen Office Chair Lets You Drive, Honk and Listen to Music

Nobody saw it coming, absolutely no one, but here is Volkswagen (Norway) nonplussing everyone by dropping its first-ever office chair which looks more like a gaming furniture to me. In case you wish to be a little pretentious at the office or want to impress your boss with your workaholic attitude, the chair is best suited for you.

You won’t need to run hurriedly from one cabin to another like you previously used to, and rather go hell for leather sitting on a chair courtesy of the five rolling wheels, the chair is poised on. Boasting a beautiful design, the chair is finished in metallic paint and features a seat heater to keep you warm, and a touch display that lets you juggle with a number of functionalities, at once.

A big thanks to its foot pedals that let you hurtle from one cubicle to another, while the electric motor lets you screech through office flooring at a top speed of 12.4-mph. The hi-tech chair also allows you to honk at your colleagues, just in case someone bulwarks your way and tries to break your momentum, while you are returning from time-bound coffee breaks. Furthermore, the chair lets you listen to your favorite music all thanks to the built-in entertainment system (loaded up with songs) that will keep the driver enthralled throughout the ride (or work probably).

Reading all the aforementioned stuff, you might have got an idea that it isn’t a functional furniture piece for your regular office work. If ever proposed, this would end up destroying the symphony of work culture. No boss in the world would allow such nonsense in the office, unless you are Elon Musk, just kidding! Long story cut short, it is a tongue-in-cheek chair as aptly described by DesignTAXI.

The makers of the motorized chair have also crammed the exhibition piece with LED lighting which gives the furniture the feel of a proper headlight as it would have been in any Volkswagen model. For more feeling, the company has also included a rear-view camera and 360-degree proximity sensors that assist you to back it out from your desk.

The office chair has a handy storage space in the back that is ideal for storing a laptop, annual reports, and other office-relevant documents. The Volkswagen logo embroidered on the headrest is the final nail in the coffin and makes it a standout piece.

The sad part is, the chair is not available for purchase. But, customers and Volkswagen enthusiasts will still be able to test-drive the model at local dealerships in the coming months as per Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Norway.
