US box office: Free Guy still in the lead

Driven by good reviews and word of mouth, Free Guy remains at the top of the rankings. It is followed by Paw Patrol, which is the only novelty of the week not to disappoint.

Free Guy continues its momentum and collects an additional $ 18.8 million for its second weekend of operations. This action comedy carried by Ryan Reynolds therefore cumulates 58.8 million greenbacks. It also fell only 34%, the smallest drop in a second weekend since the start of the summer.

Only one novelty climbed into the top 3 this weekend: Paw Patrol which rakes in $ 13 million, more than the predictions of experts. This is a very good score since this animated film is also available on the Paramount + platform and it is not shown on one of the largest theater circuits in the United States, Regal Cinemas.

Like last week, it’s once again Jungle Cruise which closes the podium. With $ 92.5 million in revenue to date, the Disney film is no longer very far from the symbolic 100 million mark!

As for the other novelties, it is not very glorious. Placed in 7th, 8th and 9th position, none exceeds $ 3 million in revenue. The thriller The Protected with Maggie Q, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton starts off with just 2.94 million.

The horror movie The prey of a shadow is just below at 2.87 million. As for the science fiction feature film Reminiscence with Hugh Jackman, in theaters this Wednesday in France, he only collects 2 million greenbacks.
