In order to make up for the gap caused by the deprogramming of October 1, France 2 exceptionally broadcast this Saturday, October 17 at 8:45 p.m. a new unpublished episode of Un Si Grand Soleil. An episode unlike any other since it featured the departure of an emblematic character from the series, namely Manon Bastide, played by Mélanie Robert since the launch of Un Si Grand Soleil in 2018.
This departure, the writers of the daily soap opera of France 2 had been preparing for it for a few days already, when Manon had decided to leave to follow her last year of high school in a boarding school in Lausanne, Switzerland. Despite the incomprehension of Arthur and his friends, and the refusal of Alice (Maëlle Mietton) to let her go, Manon had not given up and had ended up convincing her father, Julien (Jérémy Banster), that this new departure was vital for her. In order to leave behind the horrible year she had just lived, marked in particular by the death of Léa. In the episode broadcast last night, Manon therefore bids farewell to her loved ones during a very moving airport sequence, where the Bastide family was gathered in full. Then left Montpellier and flew to Switzerland, where new adventures await her.
Accompanied by a montage of the best moments of the Bastides over the last two seasons, Manon’s departure sounds like a final farewell. But is this really the case? Is Mélanie Robert leaving Un Si Grand Soleil for good? Contacted by us, France 2 replied that the young actress was not leaving the series definitively. Mélanie Robert is only absent a few times in order to devote herself to other projects. The channel did not tell us the duration of this parenthesis away from the film sets of Un Si Grand Soleil, but everything suggests that Manon will be absent from the intrigues at least until the end of the school year. Even if a guest appearance from time to time is obviously never to be ruled out. After all, Christmas is coming.
