AN UNEXPECTED REBOUND GIVES A NEW TURN TO THE SURVEY
In the morning, Lucile calls out to prosecutor Bernier in the street to find out a little more about the investigation into the death of the witnesses in the Marquant affair. After recalling that this is a complex case, the prosecutor says that the police are mobilized to protect those threatened.
Meanwhile, David and Damien spent the night together. If the nurse would like them to stop seeing each other while the killer is free, Damien wants to take the risk. Back at the hospital, David confesses to Claire that he spent the night with Damien. No longer able to fight against what he is and refusing to live a lie any longer, he intends to speak to his wife.
With the press on their backs, the prosecutor fears for his part a general psychosis throughout the city and puts pressure on Becker to be able to reassure the population. Subsequently, the policeman receives a call from the narcotics who inform him that they have arrested the murderer of Rodolphe Lantini. As the suspect is a drug dealer, this could mean that there is no connection with the Marquant case. To be clear, prosecutor Bernier and Commissioner Becker decide to conduct the interrogation. The detainee then admits having killed Rodolphe Lantini because he had denounced his brother to the police.
For her part, Colette Genton ensures that Maryline will be present for the cremation of her husband. While the owner of the roommate asks if it was the wish of the deceased, Colette replies that her husband wanted to be buried but that he is no longer there to decide for him.
At the end of the day, Yann researched Sébastien Latour’s mechanical breakdown and discovered that a similar accident had occurred in Germany seven years earlier on a model of the same brand. The manufacturer had recalled certain vehicles but Sébastien Latour never had the defective part repaired. Becker then deduces that Sébastien Latour’s death was accidental and that it has no connection with the Marquant affair. The police must therefore now focus on the death of Bernard Genton.
MYRIAM TAKES INITIATIVES
At the Bastides, Alice informs Alain and Elizabeth that Arthur intends to find his father in Uruguay to support him in his exile at the end of the summer vacation. Regarding his studies, he made good inquiries and intends to follow his medical course there. Worried Alain and Elizabeth fear that he will sacrifice his future, especially since a runaway is not a future for a child.
Elizabeth then went to L. Cosmetics. When Berthier specifies that he has found someone to replace his assistant who is going on maternity leave, the businesswoman reminds him that the company must save money and then adds that he will have to manage without. In addition, as her estimated budget is not in line with the company’s financial situation, Elizabeth summons it to provide her with growth or reduction in activity hypotheses.
At the same time, Myriam set up a stand in the street to have L. Cosmetics creams tested to passers-by while having them fill out a satisfaction questionnaire. Back in the office, she reports her findings to Elizabeth. As the container poses a problem for most of the people questioned, Myriam suggests replacing the pot with an aluminum tube in order to stand out from the competition. Finding her remarks very relevant, Elizabeth congratulates her warmly on her work.
Shortly after, Elizabeth summons Gary and Berthier and tells them about Myriam’s idea before asking them to budget for this new packaging. While this surprises Gary, Elizabeth signals that this is an investment and demands that he get to work.
JOHANNA TAKES FLIGHT
Johanna visits the premises for her future practice in the company of Mr. Daumier who gives her a very advantageous lease project for her. Excited, the young woman therefore gives him her agreement in principle. Mr. Daumier then invites her to accompany him to a football match, indicating that she could meet professional people there. Without hesitation, the lawyer accepts his proposal.
Later, Johanna thanks her uncle for his offer but declares that it’s time for her to take flight. If Guilhem thinks she is making a mistake, Johanna, who feels the need to emancipate herself, begs him to understand her choice. Guilhem then wishes her good luck and hopes that she will not regret her choice because it will be too late.
