MASTER LEVARS MAKES A DISCOVERY THAT COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING
At the courthouse, Jonathan admits to Judge Alphand that he swindled Victor. While Cécile indicates his indictment to him, Master Levars points out that his client did not put up any resistance to confess his guilt, which proves his ardent desire to repair the damage caused. The good intentions of his client are beyond doubt, so the lawyer sees no reason to send him back to prison. Although this decision does not belong to her, Cécile will not oppose that Jonathan remains in freedom under judicial control until his trial.
Once free, Jonathan joins Victor at the Resource Center and claims he never intended for things to end this way. If Florent’s brother begs him to withdraw his complaint, Victor retorts that he must take responsibility for his choices if he wants to be able to change one day. Later, Florent gives his father-in-law a check for 2000 euros in order to repay the first part of his brother’s debt. If he initially refuses to see his son-in-law take responsibility for Jonathan’s actions, Victor ends up accepting in front of his pleas.
Meanwhile, Jonathan remembers some derogatory words his brother had said to him. Angry, he then goes to Florent and has fun provoking him. As the lawyer asks him to leave, Jonathan says he is determined to ruin his life to the end before declaring that he will hear from her soon. At the end of the day, Master Levars arrives at the campsite and informs Jonathan that he should never have spent all these years in prison. According to him, his client was indeed the victim of a miscarriage of justice which he owes to his brother.
A NEW CASE STIRRATES THE COMMISSIONER
Elsa meets her receiver and sells him the four laptops she stole the day before for 800 euros. As she hoped to make more money, José advises her to mount a real blow. Back at the campsite, she draws the wrath of Virgil who worried not to see her come home all night. While he reminds her that she must not move from there, Elsa gets carried away and asks him to take care of what concerns him.
At the same time, the police discovered that Sacha Mertens had worked for a diamond dealer before being fired by his employer. When Becker accuses him of having bought stones in France to bring them back to Belgium, Mertens denies the facts. Despite everything, he was placed under examination for concealment with a ban on leaving the city. In the hope of identifying members of the network who supply diamond dealers in Belgium, Becker decides to place Mertens under surveillance.
For her part, Johanna meets a new client. The latter, who is a guide in Africa, explains that he helped a friend to take out certain works of art as well as some diamonds to resell them in France. While he would like to know the risks he is running, Johanna advises him to go to the police or call them if the authorities trace him back.
Several kilometers away, Manu finds Elsa. Unfortunately, their tête-à-tête is interrupted by Alex who contacts his teammate to warn him that the Belgian authorities have no trace of Mertens in their files.
