There are a lot of actors always with the same role and when it’s that of a high school student, it can quickly become annoying because the actors grow up. Whether in series on Netflix or movies for teens, we always see high school students or even college students played by actors a lot a lot older. When they are 22 or 23, we accept but sometimes it is frankly abused.

All the actors in the movie “The Labyrinth” are too old but overall, it doesn’t show too much (especially with Thomas Brodie-Sangster who seems to be forever 14). Except for Alby who is clearly a daron.
3. Alan Ruck (Cameron Frye) – “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”

If you’ve never seen “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, that’s a sign that you have to watch it today.
4. Monique Coleman (Taylor McKessie) – “High School Musical”

High School Musical is the world’s smoothest teen movie where everyone is nice and no one fucks in the high school toilet. At the same time, it’s Disney. The only thing that makes a stain is this far too old actress.

It’s always bad to have teenagers play when you could hire adults, especially when they have to be professional singers and dancers. The cast of “Grease” is no exception to the rule and Stockard Channing was the oldest.

Holly’s age in “Diamonds on the Couch” is never explicitly stated in the film but in the book, she is between 18 and 19 years old. So okay, Audrey Hepburn is very good in the film, but she’s not 18 years old.

In “Clueless”, we try to make you believe that age doesn’t matter too much since the high schoolers all seem to be different ages and the 16-year-old main character gallops Paul Rudd at the end who plays a student much older. Among the students, Stacey Dash who plays Dionne is the oldest.

10. Darren Barnet (Paxton Hall-Yoshida) – “My First Times”

“My first times” is a nice, moving and funny series. On the other hand, it adopts all the clichés of the teen movie and we see it from the appearance of Paxton, played by Darren Barnet. The guy looks like a model, he’s muscular like an adult who spends his days in the gym and has a killer smile.
11. Alexa Demie (Maddy Perez) – “Euphoria”

Maddy in “Euphoria” is an exceptional character but she cannot exist in a high school. And it is logical since the actress is almost 30 years old.
12. Jessica Barden (Alyssa) – “The End of the F***ing World”

It must be weird being an adult and playing a depressed kid in high school. In “The End of the F***ing World”, the wonderful Jessica Barden plays the insufferable Alyssa and even if we see nothing but fire, she was already 26 years old.

In “Outer Banks“, John B and his group of friends go in search of his father to find out what happened to him. His father must not be very young since the actor is 28 years old and not 16 years old.

15. Ncuti Gatwa (Eric Effiong) – “Sex Education”

16. Ashleigh Murray (Josie McCoy) – “Riverdale”

All of the cast of Riverdale look to be in their 30s and they don’t look like high school kids AT ALL but most are between 23 and 26 years old. All except the actress who plays Josie who was 28 at the start of the series and is 33 today.
17. Antwon Tanner (Skills) – “The Scott Brothers”

“The Scott Brothers” is a typical 2000s teen series with high school fights at the start and terrible drama at the end. The actors all seem quite old, but it’s Antwon Tanner who plays Skills, the oldest high school student.
18. Timothy Granaderos (Montgomery de la Cruz) – “13 Reasons Why”

Actor’s age : 32 years old
Well, there, it is clearly abused. In “13 Reasons Why”, the characters are in high school and some actors were indeed 18 years old at the start of the series. And then there is Timothy Granaderos who was already 32 years old in season 2 and wears a tranquillou Teddy jacket.
