The first season of The Walking Dead was released more than 10 years ago and even if the series was cult in its beginnings, it should have ended a long time ago. Since there were around 850 characters, 80% of whom died, we wondered what the actors who starred in the series looked like today at the very beginning. I hope you are also interested because it starts right away.
1. Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes
Table of Contents
We remember the very first episode of the series where Rick wakes up in the hospital and discovers Atlanta deserted. The actor has taken a blow of old but has not changed so much in the end.
2. Steven Yeun as Glenn Rhee
Who hasn’t cried at the saddest moment in the series, Glenn’s death? He was every fan’s favorite character. The Walking Dead and the show wasn’t really interesting after that. The actor is even more handsome today and made the cover of GQ Korea recently.
3. Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier
The character of Carol is probably the one who has evolved the best in the series, the poor woman saw her daughter and all her friends die but never let herself be dismantled.
4. Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes
We remember both the cute Carl from the first season and the unbearable one-eyed Carl from the sequel. Several years after the well-deserved death of his character, the actor will play in a short film where he looks like he is 40 years old. Can’t wait to see this.
5. Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene
Maggie, Hershel’s super badass daughter, starred on the show until the final season. Her child, whom she carried for far too long, is finally born and we’re sure to cry when they refer to her late dad.
6. Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon
While Rick was supposed to be the show’s central character, Daryl stole the show from the first episode. Big respect to him for keeping his role from start to finish despite the show’s decline.
7. Emily Kinney as Beth Greene
Emily Kinney hasn’t changed a bit since her role as Beth, Maggie’s little sister and one of the show’s best characters. However, the actress turned 37 this year. The death of his character was almost as traumatic as that of Glenn, it remains etched in our memories.
8. Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan Smith
Norman Reedus perfectly embodied one of the best series villains, the famous Negan. It seems that he becomes nice in the last seasons but we were too lazy to watch to be sure.
9. Danai Gurira as Michonne
There are characters who arrive without really being noticed and who gradually stand out. And then there’s Michonne. To say that it was ten years ago that we discovered the character played by Danai Gurira with his undead on a leash…
She is now best known for her role as the warrior Okoye in Black Panther and other MCU films.
10. Jon Bernthal as Shane Walsh
The villainous Shane didn’t last long on the show, but his character never left our minds. Since then, the actor has been omnipresent in the cinema and we have been able to see him in many cult films such as The wolf of Wall Street, Baby Driver Where Le Mans 66.
11. Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori Grimes
Lori is one of the unfairly hated series characters, no one liked her. Still, considering how boring Rick was, it was completely understandable to sleep with his buddy and anyone would have done the same.
12. IronE Singleton as Theodore “T-Dog” Douglas
We haven’t seen much of IronE Singleton in stuff other than The Walking Dead and it’s a shame because he played his T-Dog character pretty well. This character had also had a downright unjust death, it was free.
13. Katelyn Nacon as Enid
Enid was a really nice girl and Carl’s great friend (and maybe more). His death, like all the others, is despicable and we were very disgusted to see his head hanging on a Ned Stark-style spike in Game Of Thrones.
14. Lennie James as Morgan Jones
Lennie James was already known for his role in Snap before the series but he really shone playing Morgan in The Walking Dead. Watching him slowly descend into madness after the death of his family was downright heartbreaking.
15. Brighton Sharbino and Kyla Kenedy as Mika and Lizzie Samuels
The Samuels sisters did not stay on screen very long but definitely made an impression. Carol had taken the two orphans under her wing and we were as shocked as she was to discover the body of Mika, killed by Lizzie. The two actresses have since continued to play in American series.
