Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover, the founders of the Frieze Art Festival, jump into the restaurant business and open Toklas at 180 The Strand (home to Frieze’s offices as well as a number of other creative organizations) this summer. In addition to the main dining room, Toklas will also house a garden terrace spanning Surrey Street, as well as a bakery and grocery store. No menu has yet been revealed, but the focus will be on fresh, simple and unpretentious food with vegetables and fish cooked on a charcoal grill.

And Toklas won’t be the only new location in the building as Mateo Zielonka is also opening 180 Pasta, a pasta restaurant in collaboration with The Store, again this year, so it looks like you won’t go hungry in those places.
