Actor Chris Hemsworth said the various changes to his character in “Thor: Ragnarok”, including his new hairstyle, were caused by … Kevin Smith.
While still sporting his long blonde Viking hair at the start of Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth shows up with a brand new hairstyle when he arrives in the Grandmaster arena to fight the Hulk.
A drastic change in appearance that the storyline warrants with a complete superhero makeover in the gladiator preparation room, but which Chris Hemsworth recently described as an intention to dust off the character.
Indeed, at the microphone of Vanity Fair, the comedian explained that this new hairstyle, as well as the many other changes made to Thor in Ragnarok, were in part motivated by a podcast by Kevin Smith, geek icon, director of Clerks and Dogma, who called the god of the Marvel thunder like a boring hero.
“To hear someone say something like [Kevin] Smith, who represents the universe of fanboys, was a real kick in the buttocks to readjust us. We ultimately had nothing to lose. People weren’t expecting what we did this time around, “ recount Chris Hemsworth, before admitting that he himself had been waiting for this change for a long time:
I didn’t feel so comfortable in the first three films. I must say that recently, it seemed more concrete to me. But before, I had the impression that at any moment, everything could slip out of my hands.
