In “They Were 10”, the M6 miniseries adapted from Agatha Christie’s bestseller, “Nassim Lyes plays Malik, one of the heroes. A role he landed at the last minute since he was replaced at short notice the actor Pierre Perrier.
Tour in spring 2019 in Guadeloupe, as well as in the South of France for the part of the story featuring the flashbacks of the different characters, They were 10, the mini-series by Pascal Laugier adapted from the eponymous novel by Agatha Christie , is finally broadcast every Tuesday evening at 9:05 p.m. on M6.
Centered on five women and five men who do not know each other and find themselves isolated on a desert island, plagued by a murderer who seeks to make them pay for their past crimes and may well be hiding among them, this fictional event in six episodes can be boast of being carried by a very nice cast since it has Romane Bohringer, Samuel Le Bihan, Guillaume de Tonquédec, Manon Azem, Marianne Denicourt, Matilda Lutz, Samy Seghir, or even Nassim Lyes in its cast.
But originally, the latter, which was particularly illustrated in Les Lascars, Marseille, En Passant pécho, or more recently The Last Mercenary on Netflix, was not to be part of the distribution of They Were 10. It is indeed Pierre Perrier (The Revenant, Fear on the Lake) who was to complete the band of ten heroes inspired by the work of Agatha Christie.
But, unfortunately, the day before the shooting, Pierre Perrier fell on rocks while walking and injured his face. “We had to replace it in 24 hours”, explains producer Sophie Révil. “We brought in urgently Nassim Lyes from Paris, who replaced him. And we rewrote the character especially for him”.
An arrival “a bit special” Nassim Lyes came back to when we met him on the set of the series in Guadeloupe a little over two years ago. “The shooting had already started three days ago when I arrived on the series, following the injury of the main male actor. When we say that the misfortune of some makes the happiness of others, that was indeed the case”.
“My agent called me to offer me the role and I had to make a decision very quickly”, continues the 33-year-old actor. “I had 5 minutes to make up my mind. To make up my mind to go to Guadeloupe for three months (laughs). And when I was told that Pascal Laugier was directing and that I saw the casting, which is a very nice casting, I did not hesitate “.
“It was only once on the plane that I had time to read the scripts, and luckily I realized that I was not wrong in saying yes”, concludes Nassim Lyes, who, following a twist of fate, thus became one of the headliners of They were 10.
