Expected on August 23 on Netflix, the animated film The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare is revealed in a first trailer. With Theo James in the lead role.
The Witcher continues to expand its universe on Netflix. With Season 2 slated for December 17, and the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin is currently filming, here’s the animated movie! The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare focuses on Vesemir, Geralt of Riv’s mentor.
“Witers are scoundrels without virtue, real evil creatures who are only good at killing. There is no place for them among honest men …“It is with these sententious sentences that the trailer for the film opens.
Netflix also revealed the names of the actors who lend their voices to the characters in this animated film. Divergent saga star Theo James plays Vesemir, Lara Pulver (Sherlock, Dota: Dragon’s Blood) is Tetra, Graham McTavish (Outlander) is Deglan and Mary McDonnell (Major Crimes) is Lady Zerbst.
The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare therefore serves as a prequel to the original series. The film reads: “Years before Geralt, his mentor Vesemir – a reckless young witcher – flees poverty by killing monsters to fill his purse. But when a strange new creature begins to terrorize a kingdom torn apart by politics, Vesemir finds himself at the heart of a nightmarish adventure that forces him to face the demons of his own past.“
The tone of the trailer suggests that the film will certainly be faithful to the universe of the series but will not be devoid of humor …
