If James Gunn did not skimp on the deaths in The Suicide Squad, a character who seemed to be one of the deceased did not, against all odds, perish as it was believed.
Warning this article contains spoilers on the film!
For his version of the Suicide Squad, James Gunn brought in a lot of supervillains, but many of them didn’t last long in the film. A whole part of the team was indeed decimated from the start of the plot.
Among these unlucky ones we find Savant (Michael Rooker), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Blackguard (Pete Davidson) or even TDK aka The Detachable Kid (Nathan Fillion). At least, that’s what everyone thought before James Gunn made a revelation on Twitter.
The director thus shared: “It is important to note that if you look at the life signals in the communications room, TDK is not dead.“The character’s interpreter reacted directly by writing:”I noticed this very loudly when I saw the movie in the cinema. I apologize again for the inconvenience.“
ALIVE BUT FOR HOW LONG?
A conversation between the two friends followed where the filmmaker said: “During the credits, you are very clearly still alive, and we can see you. You are coughing up blood. It is indeed not a guarantee of good health, but you are not dead. You breathe.“
Weasel (Sean Gunn) and Peacemaker (John Cena) are therefore not the only members of the squad who were believed to be dead but who actually survived. However, unlike these characters, who are entitled to post-credits scenes revealing their fate, you had to be very observant to realize that TDK was also alive at the end of the assault on the beach!
