Much awaited by fans of Stephen King, the miniseries The Scourge is revealed in an agonizing trailer. Revealed at Comic-Con in New York, the first images are chilling especially in times of a global pandemic. As a reminder, Le Fléau is an adaptation of the 1978 novel, already transposed to cinema in 1994, by the master of horror which has been in development for several years.
Le Fléau (or The Stand in VO) tells how two groups of survivors will clash when an influenza pandemic created in a military laboratory spreads around the world and decimates almost the entire population. Both groups have a very specific purpose and the fight between the two represents the eternal struggle between good and evil.
The mini-series will air on December 17, 2020 on CBS All Access, which also airs Star Trek Discovery in the United States. The nine-part mini-series is written by Benjamin Cavell (Homeland) and directed by Josh Boone (Our Fault in Stars, The New Mutants). The cast includes James Marsden (Westworld), Alexander Skarsgård, Whoopi Goldberg, Amber Heard, Odessa Young and Jovan Adepo. For now, no broadcast date in France has been announced.
