Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has passed the rich Instagram list since the celebrity thought he was able to upload more than anyone else for a sponsored post.

The turned actor wrestler could charge advertisers more than $ 1 million (£ 790,000) per post last year, according to social media marketing firm Hopper HQ.

Fast and Furious star eliminated makeup entrepreneur Kylie Jenner from the top spot.

He has 182 million followers on Instagram, while he has 187 million.

The British company Hopper HQ, which manages social media accounts on behalf of companies and individuals, published its first rich Instagram list in 2017.

The rankings and the cost per mail were achieved after speaking with the so-called “influencers” of the social media themselves, together with brands and marketing companies and using information on prices available to the public to estimate how much each account could charge.

However, marketers tend to be secret about how much they pay, or the posts may be part of a larger deal – as is often the case with celebrities or sports stars – so the exact amounts are unknown.

Other high-value personalities on his list for 2019 included footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who was worth $ 889,000 per post, and socialite Kim Kardashian West, who could pay $ 858,000.

Earlier this year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was crowned the best-paid actor in the world by Forbes, having earned nearly $ 90 million in pre-tax last year.

Outside of his film work, the action star has an important commercial partnership with Under Armor, the US sports brand with which he signed in 2016.

It was also sponsored by the technology giant Apple and the Norwegian bottled water brand Voss, in which it holds a stake.

However, his current list of sponsorship offers on Instagram looks surprisingly short.

Scrolling through his feed, apart from the selfies of the muscular actor who works, most of the recent posts of The Rock promote his Tequila brand, Teremana.

On top of that, his promotional posts are largely for new episodes of The Titans, an NBC TV series he hosts, or films in which he stars, such as the upcoming DC Comics film Black Adam.

“Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has had an incredible year as he continues to dominate Hollywood with successful hits, including Fast & Furious and Jumanji’s second film,” said Mike Bandar, co-founder of Hopper HQ.

“It was especially interesting to see the star emerge in Instagram fame this year as she climbed six places on the list and outperformed reigning champion Kylie Jenner.”

In May, Forbes magazine removed reality TV star and cosmetic entrepreneur Kylie Jenner from her list of billionaires, accusing her family of inflating the value of her makeup business.

This year was the first time in four years that a Jenner or Kardashian was not at the top of Hopper HQ’s rich Instagram celebrity list.

Influencers need to make it clear that an Instagram post is an announcement if they have been paid to post it or have received gifts in return.

However, some have been criticized for the lack of transparency.
