The last of us on hbo: a first look at the sets of the post-apocalyptic series

This is a series that fans of The Last of Us games are eagerly awaiting. And good news, it’s finally in production! Filming should begin in a few days as the sets are finished being installed. The Canadian channel CTV had the chance to take a look and share some images:

We can see the buildings under construction. If we do not yet feel the post-apocalyptic aspect, it will probably take a good dose of CGI to find the atmosphere of video games. It is not yet clear which part of the series will take place in these buildings, but we can imagine that it is the quarantine zone where Joel (Pedro Pascal) is smuggling, or the town of Bill (Con O ‘Neill), Lincoln.

As a reminder, the 10 episodes of The Last of Us benefited from a substantial budget which “greatly exceeds the eight-digit mark“each if one believes Damian Petti, president of the union of artists IATSE 212. A budget much higher than that of Game of Thrones for its first season.

The series of Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) carried by Pascal and the young Bella Ramsey in the role of Ellie, should arrive on our screens during 2022. Until then, we invite you to discover the complete cast:
