The actor will reprise the role of James Olsen in the finale of “Supergirl”, alongside two other favorite characters of the public who will also return for the occasion.
With the filming of the sixth and final season of Supergirl now over, the stars of the series have chained tributes and farewell messages on social networks in recent weeks.
If some of them, like David Harewood (J’onn J’onzz) have mentioned a possible future appearance of their character in another series of the Arrowverse, it is indeed a page which is turning now for the members of the CW series. But in an interview with the site Entertainment Weekly, Melissa Benoist, who plays the superheroine, has made a revelation that will cheer fans before the final season comes to an end.
The actress has confirmed that three iconic characters from the series, among fan favorites, will return in the final episode. Mehcad Brooks, who played James Olsen, will reprise his role after his character left the series in season 5 to run the local newspaper in his hometown, passing on his Guardian shield to his sister Kelly.
But he won’t be the only one to reappear in the finale: David Harewood also announced that Chris Wood and Jeremy Jordan, who played Mon-El and Winn (Toyman, respectively), will also be part of the show’s farewell. Both had left the series at the end of Season 3, with the exception of a brief appearance by the first in the 100th episode of the series in Season 5.
Supergirl: Melissa Benoist bids farewell to the series
“It would have seemed strange if they hadn’t come back“, said Melissa Benoist.”I don’t believe this farewell would have been successful if those who returned hadn’t done so, and I’m very grateful for that. It’s always difficult to get so many people together in one place again, especially during the pandemic, so I’m very happy it worked that way.”
The broadcast of season 6 of Supergirl began on August 24 in the United States on the CW. In France, season 5 is currently being replayed on CSTAR.
