Stranger Things: release time, plots… what you need to know about season 4 – News…

The impatience is at its peak! After 3 years of waiting, the return of Stranger Things has never been so close since the new season will be available from Friday on Netflix. Time of posting, intrigues to come… We tell you everything!

Started on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things quickly became a real phenomenon. And the long wait between the third season, broadcast in July 2019, and the fourth, which is about to go online, has not altered the joy of spectators in finding the heroes created by the brothers. Matt and Ross Duffer.

To prolong the pleasure, it has also been decided to split this new season into two volumes: the first seven episodes will be put online this Friday, May 27 at 9 a.m. sharp, while the final two will arrive on July 1. In total, the season will therefore be made up of 9 episodes, most lasting 1h15, but others will be much longer, such as the finale, which should last more than 2 hours !

Six months later and in different places

If the interpreters of the young heroes have grown well since the last time we saw them on the screen, their characters have only aged a few months between season 3 and season 4. Indeed, the new episodes resume 6 months after the Battle of Starcourt which terrorized the people of Hawkins and destroyed the town.

A disaster that resulted in the loss of Eleven’s powers and the probable death of Jim Hopper (whom we finally discovered alive, imprisoned in Russia, at the end of the last episode and who we will continue to follow in this ordeal) and following which the young girl left Hawkins with the Byers family to settle in California.

For the first time, the group of friends is thus separated and each must face the complexities of life in high school. While they’re low and vulnerable, a terrifying new supernatural threat arises, necessitating Eleven’s return to Indiana. But if the dark mystery of this threat were solved, the horrors of the Upside Down could end…

A threat called Vecna?

The trailer for the season also showed a preview of the new monster that the little band will have to face. A creature that Dungeons & Dragons players immediately recognized: this is Vecna, a cult character from the favorite game of heroes. This terrifying undead, considered one of the most powerful antagonists in the D&D universe, succeeds the Demogorgon and the Mind Flayer, already from the famous role-playing game.

First echoes of the season evoke new episodes that are darker than ever and that some have even called “terrifying”. The Duffer brothers had warned anyway that this season was going to be much more horror-oriented and it’s a safe bet that Vecna will have something to do with it!

Stunning pictures

The stunning visual aspect of season 4 has also been highlighted by critics, an opinion shared by the interpreter of Eleven, Millie Bobby Brownwho told Collider :

We weren’t really surprised because the Duffer Brothers always bring more and more [d’intensité] over the seasons. (…) But there is a difference between seeing it on the screen and reading it. Because by reading [les scénarios], you say to yourself, ‘ok, that sounds intense’. And then looking at it, you’re like, ‘Oh my god.
