Fed up with TV series and auteur cinema, Emilie Semiramoth also does not hide her penchant for pop culture in all its eccentricities. From the bromance between Spock and Captain Kirk in Star Trek to the disillusionment of Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, she ignores gender boundaries.

The anthology series Star Wars: Visions is revealed in a first trailer. Entirely animated by Japanese studios, this series – expected at the end of September on Disney + – comes out of the official Star Wars canon.

Disney + has just unveiled the trailer for its upcoming Star Wars universe animated series as The Bad Batch just wrapped up. Star Wars: Visions is therefore an anthological series from Lucasfilm but which breaks with the standards of the other animated series of the franchise.

This will not only tell independent stories from each other, but above all, it is in the tradition and style of Japanese anime.

Lucasfilm has partnered with seven of Japan’s top animation studios who use their own styles of animation and storytelling to reinterpret the Star Wars universe“, Explain James waugh, vice president of Lucasfilm and executive producer of series.

These stories pay homage to a universe that has inspired a large number of visionary storytellers, and show the full extent of the narrative palette of Japanese animation. Each one is told with great originality and from a point of view which enriches our conception of what can be a story of Star wars“, continues James Waugh in the press release of the platform.
