Traffic jam in sight in the Star Wars series! While the filming of the series on Boba Fett has just ended, the production of Obi-Wan Kenobi, in progress, postpones the filming of the episodes of season 3 of The Mandalorian.
In production for six months in Los Angeles, the series The Book of Boba Fett has just finished filming. It was Ming-Na Wen, who plays mercenary Fennec Shand, who informed fans on his Twitter account. The actress joined the Star Wars universe in season 2 of The Mandalorian and will therefore be present in the spin-off on Boba Fett. She also lends her voice to a younger version of her character in the animated series The Bad Batch.
The Book of Boba Bett series will focus on the famous bounty hunter played by Temuera Morrison, who played his father Jango Fett in the Star Wars prelogy. This show should land as planned on Disney + at the end of the year, while season 3 of The Mandalorian is long overdue.
The Mandalorian season 3 postponed
If the spin-off on Boba Fett was able to shoot in time, production of the new episodes of The Mandalorian is slow to begin. And this, for a very specific reason: the Los Angeles studios are already taken by the team of another Star Wars series: Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor.
According to the sources of Collider, the shooting of season 3 of The Mandalorian should therefore begin at the end of 2021 or at the beginning of 2022. The new episodes of the series should therefore not be available before 2022.
This delay can also be explained by the fact that Pedro Pascal was hired by HBO to play Joel in the television adaptation of the video game The Last of Us. He will play there alongside Bella Ramsey (Ellie) and Gabriel Luna (Tommy ).
