Netflix has announced the casting for its live-action adaptation of the video game Resident Evil. And it is Lance Reddick, known for his roles in The Wire, Fringe or the John Wick franchise who will play the role of the villainous Albert Wesker.
The live action series Resident Evil was announced in August 2020. At the time, little information had leaked, other than that it would focus on the children of Albert Wesker. Now we know more about the series and it’s Lance Reddick who will play the big bad Albert Wesker. We now know what roles Albert Wesker and his children will play in the series.
The series will tell a new story, never before seen in the games, taking place over two different timelines. A timeline will feature sisters Billie and Jade Wesker, 14, as they move to New Raccoon City. Shortly after their arrival, the two sisters learn that the city is hiding secrets and that their father, Albert Wekser, may have some too.
The other timeline in the series takes place over 10 years later and features a world infested with deadly monsters. Humanity is dying. Adult Jade is trying to survive and is still grappling with her father’s secrets and her own past.
The series, produced by executive producer and co-showrunner of supernatural Andrew Dabb, will last eight episodes. No release date has been mentioned. Alongside Lance Reddick, five actresses are announced: Adeline Rudolph, Siena Agudong, Paola Núñez, Tamara Smart and Ella Balinska. The cast was pictured on the last day of Geeked Week:
