Prototype Samsung foldable folds over twice
- At IMID 2021, a new prototype Samsung foldable is on display.
- This folds twice as opposed to other foldable that only fold once.
- This would be years before it became a viable product.
Now, we are officially on the third generation of Samsung foldable phones. But, we have only seen one fold from Samsung (and other competitors) so far. Why not make two folds?
Samsung seems to have this in the works (h/t SlashGear). At the International Meeting for Information Displays (IMID 2021), a new prototype Samsung foldable device is on display. The device can be seen above, or you can watch the YouTube video below.
The video does not show the device folding. The device is based upon the Galaxy Z Fold 3 design so that you can use your imagination.
Samsung calls this foldable technology “multi foldable” and refers to a specific product like the Samsung Flex In & Out. If this product ever makes it to the market, then that name would be a bad one.
Don’t expect a Samsung folding phone anytime soon. This phone will not be available in stores for many years, if ever.
