Shouldn’t Culture benefit from a sovereign ministry?

I quite believe that everything depends on the person who is responsible for this ministry that is so important for the French. This is an essential mission and should be even more strengthened and valued. I have always said that it is thanks to culture that people unite, endure and are capable of beautiful things.

Is cinema necessarily a political art? What inspires you about the recovery that can be done around a work, such as “Bac Nord” recently?

Cinema can be quite a political art. This is why the public must be educated to know how to read it and remain independent at the same time. Audiovisual is inspired by life and tries to influence current events. We can appreciate it but we must remain vigilant and sufficiently critical. Then it’s good to see very good French political films and series, I’m a big fan!

Do cinema and series have, among other things, the vocation, in your opinion, of helping to “move the lines” on societal issues (parity, diversity, etc.)?

Yes, it is a great mission of cinema, both to entertain and to educate. I am deeply convinced that audiovisual art has played and continues to play a major role in history and in changing morals.
