Seventh episode of the Lovecraft Country series directed by Yann Demange and Daniel Sackheim. In the racist America of the 1950s, Atticus Black (Jonathan Majors), a young man of 25, embarks with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smolett-Bell) and his uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) on a road trip to the search for his missing father. On the road, they encounter fantastic monsters, as well as very real monsters.

Martin Eden is freely adapted from the novel by Jack London, published in 1909. The film takes place in Naples, during the 20th century and tells the initiatory journey of Martin Eden, a young proletarian sailor, individualist in an era crossed by the rise of major political movements. As he conquers the love and the world of a young and beautiful bourgeois through philosophy, literature and culture, he is consumed by the feeling of having betrayed his origins. The main actor, Luca Marinelli received the Volgi Cup for best male performance at the Venice Film Festival 2019.

In Robbery Elite, a team of Navy Seals, on a mission in warring Europe, discovers priceless treasure deep in a lake. They undertake to bring the gold to the surface in order to return it to the destitute inhabitants. But, spotted by the enemy, they will only have a few hours to complete their operation.

Second collaboration between Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling after Drive, Only God Forgives takes place in Bangkok. Julian, who fled American justice, runs a Thai boxing club serving as a cover for his drug trafficking. His mother, head of a large criminal organization, arrives from the United States to repatriate the body of her favorite son, Billy: Julian’s brother has indeed just been killed for having savagely massacred a young prostitute. Drunk with rage and revenge, she demands of Julian the head of the murderers. Julian will then have to face Chang, a strange retired police officer, adored by the other cops. The feature film was banned for at least 12 years when it was released in theaters due to the great violence of the film.

Barry Levinson’s Paterno tells the story of Joe Paterno, a college football player turned coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was fired in 2011 following a sex scandal. Al Pacino takes the lead role and is flanked by Riley Keough, Kathy Baker and Greg Grunberg.
