September 23: Athena

Third feature film by Romain Gavras, Athena is a modern Greek tragedy in the suburbs. Called back from the front after the death of his youngest brother, who died following an alleged police intervention, Abdel finds his family torn apart. Between the desire for revenge of his little brother Karim and the business in danger of his big brother dealer Moktar, he tries to calm the tensions.

Minute after minute, the Athena city is transformed into a fortified castle, the scene of a family and collective tragedy to come. When everyone thinks they have found the truth, the city is about to fall into chaos… In the casting, we find in particular Dali Bensalah, Anthony Bajon, Sami Slimane, Ouassini Embarek, Alexis Manenti, Birane BaMeriam Sbia and Yassine Bouzrou.

September 28: Blonde

Adapted from the best-selling Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde hair is a bold reinterpretation of the trajectory of Marilyn Monroe. The movie ofAndrew Dominick traces his life from his tumultuous childhood to his meteoric rise, passing through his complex love stories. Between reality and fiction, Blonde dissects the personality, public and intimate, of the one who went from Norma Jeane to Marilyn.

To embody the Hollywood icon, it’s the actress Ana de Armas who was chosen. She is surrounded by Bobby Cannavale, Adrian Brody and Julianne Nicholson. Blonde has been awaited for more than two years because it was put on hold due to very graphic scenes. The public will finally be able to discover it, but the film is prohibited for children under 17 across the Atlantic.

Inspired by a True Story, Under the influence risk of giving cold sweats to thalassophobes (people who are afraid of the depths). David Rosenthal’s film tells the story of Pascal Gauthier, No-limit freediving world champion. When Roxana meets him, she falls madly in love.
