Are you the type to fall asleep in front of your phone while watching Netflix? The American giant is developing a new feature to schedule the shutdown of the application.

Netflix: a new feature to schedule the shutdown of your application

Some fall asleep listening to music on their phone, others while launching an episode of a series or a movie on their favorite platform. If you are in this second category, Netflix has thought of you and your battery. The American giant is testing a new feature allowing to program the closing of the application after a predefined time, as explained The Verge in this article. Four choices will be offered: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or the entire program you want to watch. It is currently only in the test phase and only concerns certain Android (tablets and phones). We will therefore have to wait a bit for the others …

Here is the procedure to follow if you are one of the lucky ones to be able to test the functionality: choose the movie, series or documentary you want to watch. To the right of the video, you can see a small alarm clock “Timer”. By clicking on it, you can select the desired timer. But be careful, this does not concern the “kids” section of the platform.

This novelty would complement a feature already available on the computer and television: the message “Are you still watching Netflix?” appears after several hours of viewing without touching your remote control. An insert that had annoyed more than one user and that it is now available to deactivate in order to be able to watch Lupine, The Chronicle of the Bridgertons or even Fate: the Winx saga without being embarrassed.
