While season 11 of NCIS Los Angeles is still unseen in France, the creators of the series, whose new unpublished season is due to begin on November 8 in the United States, are considering a way to bring the character of Hetty back in the next episodes.
Played by actress Linda Hunt, Hetty made her return in season 10 after a prolonged absence due to a road accident in 2018. Now recovered, the actress, aged 75, is however one of the vulnerable people facing to the COVID-19 pandemic, and resuming filming of the series represents a risk for her.
To remedy this situation and allow the actress to continue filming in the series, R. Scott Gemmill, the showrunner of the series, has found a temporary trick. The last time Nell’s character (Renee Felice Smith) interacted with Hetty, the COO was offering her recruit to take time off in order to think about her wish to quit. When Nell returns, at the start of Season 12, she will find that her boss is missing. “because of a mishap that will make her largely unreachable for several episodes“, the showrunner told the site TV Line. An absence that will initiate a temporary transition of the direction of the operations office … and perhaps be prolonged, if Linda Hunt has to remain removed from the set for an indefinite period during the health crisis. From there to prepare the final exit of his character?
For French viewers, it will therefore be necessary to wait a little longer before discovering the fate of Hetty in these new episodes, the date of broadcast of season 11 in France not yet being communicated.
