Following the temporary closure of the Arcade Food Theater last year, where TĀ TĀ Eatery had a mezzanine house, the duo began operating from Mr. Ji on Old Compton Street, taking their famous sandos katsu and their DIY kits at home. Now, they’ve moved in permanently and are opening for outdoor dining in April, with indoor dining to follow in May.
It will still be a chicken-centric menu, but done TĀ TĀ style, which means dishes like The O’Ji, a fried chicken breast with mustard pickle mayonnaise; the Sichuan Burger, a pineapple bap, a fried chicken thigh and a cucumber salad; panko chicken hearts with curry sauce; poached soy chicken; and braised chicken gizzards with Doritos and smoked cream cheese. There will also be small plates like the prawns’ in ‘Toast’, a ‘box’ of toasted brioche filled with béchamel and prawns; and a noddle salad with cucumber and yuba with Taiwanese ice cream for dessert. The cocktail list also looks pretty decent – Salted Plum Negroni and Grapefruit Hawthorne Spritz, we’re looking at you.
