Movies and series to watch on Disney + in August 2021:
This August, anything is possible thanks to What If… ?, the first Disney + Original animated series from Marvel Studios. In the crime comedy Only Murders in the Building, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short lead the investigation.
THE UNAVOIDABLE :
What If…? – Wednesday August 11
No question of bottling Paris on the platform Disney +, but almost ! In What If… ?, the first Disney + Original animated series from Marvel Studios, the possibilities multiply: the program reimagines the key events of films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a completely unexpected way.
On display in these ten episodes, fans will find many emblematic characters of the MCU, including Peggy Carter, T’Challa, Doctor Strange, Killmonger or even Thor, some dubbed in the original version by their performer in the feature films.
The What If…? Series will be offered exclusively on Disney + from Wednesday August 11 on a weekly basis.
Good Trouble – Wednesday August 25
Currently being broadcast across the Atlantic, the third season of the Good Trouble series will be launched on Wednesday, August 25 on Disney + at the rate of one episode per week. Spin-off of the family drama The Fosters (soon available on the platform), the show centers on the characters of Callie and Mariana in a new phase of their life.
New challenges, neighbors and romances will upset the daily life of the two adoptive sisters now living in Los Angeles, still played by Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez. A successful derivative series that intelligently tackles very current themes. The first two seasons of Good Trouble will also be available starting August 25.
Only Murders in the Building – Wednesday August 31
Lead the investigation alongside Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin from August 31 on Disney + in the humorous thriller Only Murders in the Building!
Obsessed by crime, three neighbors who do not know each other will team up to uncover the truth about the mysterious death of a resident of their New York residence. Lies, secrets and twists await you in the ten episodes of this comedy by Steve Martin and John Hoffman.
The first three episodes will be available from August 31 to celebrate the launch of the Star Original series, before a weekly broadcast.

In this 10-part Star Original series inspired by the life of activist Erin Brockovich, Katey Sagal plays a legal consultant without a law degree who will stop at nothing. The actress is surrounded by John Corbett and Andy Garcia.

Diary of a future president (season 2) – Wednesday August 18
The endearing Elena Cañero-Reed, future President of the United States embodied by Tess Romero, will be back in a second round of episodes from August 18. The first episode of season 2 was directed by Gina Rodriguez (Jane The Virgin), who also plays adult Elena.
McCartney 3,2,1 – Wednesday August 25
After Summer of Soul, music is once again in the spotlight on Disney + with the McCartney 3,2,1 documentary series dedicated to legend Paul McCartney. In six episodes, the artist confides in his career, his working methods and his influences in this event program not to be missed!
Our Worst Friends – Friday August 27
Cinema, streaming… John Cena is everywhere is this moment! And on Disney +, we find him in the crazy comedy Our Worst Friends in the company of Meredith Hagner, in which the two actors play a couple of revelers who are encrusted at the wedding of rather discreet holiday buddies, for the best and especially for the worse.
