True legend of the seventh art, Morgan Freeman shot for the greatest filmmakers, from Clint Eastwood to Brian DePalma Passing by Steven Spielberg and David Fincher. But the one who is at the head of the United States in The Fall of the President, broadcast tonight on TF1, also experienced some amazing and lesser-known moments in a career spanning nearly six decades. We introduce you to some of them.

HE INCARNATEDE A VAMPIRE VEGETARIAN

At the very beginning of his career, Morgan Freeman has appeared in several episodes of the educational television series The Electric Company, airing on PBS. Between 1971 and 1977, still unknown to the general public, the American actor played several characters, including the surprisingly good Vincent, a vegetarian vampire. Plus, he sings!

IT AREALISE A LONG METRAGE

Morgan Freeman is an actor with a huge career. But did you know that he had made a feature film? Released in 1993, Bopha! tells the story of a black policeman in South Africa (played by Danny Glover) who suffers racism from his superiors. Years after this film which denounces Apartheid, Freeman will play on the screen Nelson Mandelaa major figure in the fight against racial segregation in Invictus.

Note that Morgan Freeman also officiated behind the camera for television. Between 2015 and 2017, the American has indeed signed three episodes of the series Madam Secretaryin which he embodies the President of the Supreme Court.

HE PLAYEDE IN THE EMPEROR’S MARCH

And yes, Morgan Freeman appears in the credits of The emperor’s walkthe Oscar-winning documentary Luc Jacquet ! The American actor is indeed the narrator of the English version of the film, which tells the story of emperor penguins and their reproductive cycle in the heart of Antarctica.

This English version has a single narrator, which is therefore Morgan Freeman. This is a notable difference with the French version, told by three different people, namely Romane Bohringer, Charles Berling and Jules Sitruk.

HE HAS ETE RCESAIDE WITHOUT HIM’S KNOWLEDGE AT GENOTERIC OF AN UZBEK FILM

It’s a totally improbable and hardly believable story. In 2017, Morgan Freeman appears on the poster and in the trailer of an Uzbek film titled Daydi. Small problem which is still important: the Hollywood actor does NOT play AT ALL in the work in question, which tells the story of a policeman who has to protect his country from a group of assassins.

The film regulator has accused the Timur Film studio of violating consumers’ rights by promising them the presence of a Hollywood star in the casting. And the theatrical release of the action thriller has simply been canceled! For the record, the images of Morgan Freeman in the trailer for Daydi were from the feature film Last Knightswhere it rubs shoulders in particular Clive Owen.

IT HAS PRÊTE HIS VOICE HAS A LEGO AND… HAS A GPS!

In 2014, Morgan Freeman had his unique experience in dubbing animated films by lending his voice to the Master Builder Vitruvius, a character from The Great Lego Adventure. If this foray into animated cinema is therefore a “one shot”, the actor has brought his unique tone of voice to a number of productions, whether films, documentaries, commercials, music videos or charitable projects.

It is for example he who is the narrator of War of the Worlds of Steven Spielberg or, in a completely different genre, Conan of Marcus Nispel. The Hollywood star, whose vocal performance in the trilogy The Dark Knight (where he plays Lucius Fox) was repurposed for video games Batman Begins and DC Universe Onlinehas also lent his voice to God in the comedy Almighty Bruceled by jim carrey. Just that !

Finally, more surprisingly, the voice of Morgan Freeman was used in 2016 as an option for a GPS. The voice of the actor, then on the poster of The Fall of London, could indeed be chosen by users of the Waze application so that it guides them on the road. Rather classy!
