Ariane sleeps with Lombard
Jean-Paul and Mathieu Lombard present Ariane and Revel with the latest information from their investigation: the victim has been identified. This is Fabien Roux, a young peacekeeper in Menton. Particularly shocked by his death, Kévin confides in Baptiste, without knowing that Camille is watching them from afar.
On the way to Cannes, Ariane, Lombard and Julien discuss Jacob’s profile. The superintendent notably analyzes the motivations that drove him to crime and identifies Camille as the source of an obsessive love for the serial killer.
The trio then go to the crime scene for an inspection. Thanks to Ariane, Lombard notices that the copycat could observe its victim from outside the room. Discreetly, Jacob retrieves a packet of chewing gum from the ground, while Ariane and Lombard leave the place.
Overwhelmed by events, Ariane goes to a bar to drink. Lombard joins her and confides in her own trauma, linked to July 14, 2016 in Nice. They decide to drown their bad memories in alcohol. They return to the hotel completely drunk and spend the night together…
Gabriel’s identity is revealed
On his schedule, Gabriel notices that he has to take a patient to Marseille-Est. Above all, he does not want his colleagues to see him as a trainee stretcher-bearer, but he cannot decline his mission because he wants to continue to make a good impression.
So he pretends to suffer from a migraine in order to wear sunglasses. In the corridors, Gabriel takes care to turn his back on colleagues likely to recognize him. But he realizes that the latter pay no attention to the paramedics. Despite all his precautions, Gabriel is unmasked by one of the hospital stretcher-bearers.
Faced with Cédric, Gabriel recognizes the truth but claims to be trying to change his behavior thanks to his internship. His trainer states that his reputation is already too tarnished, referring to the thread of area stretcher-bearers venting on Gabriel.
Back home, the latter reads the many negative messages about him, which pushes him to question himself.
Carmen buys a boat for Gérard
Fanny tries to calm the ardor of her mother, who turns out to be ready to dig a generous sum from her savings to give Gérard a present. Having nothing to do with her daughter’s warnings, Carmen tries to find out her companion’s craziest dream. He admits that he would like to live with her on a boat to cross paradise islands.
While walking together in the harbor, the couple come across a boat that matches the description of Gerard’s dream boat in every way. When Carmen proposes to speak to the owner, Gérard prevents her. He pretends to want to do it himself, then comes back confessing that the boat is not for sale, even for double its value.
But, determined to offer a gift to her beloved, Carmen returns alone to the boat in the evening. She approaches the owner by pretending to be the director of a function that helps children with an orphan disease. Thus, she convinces him to sell her his boat for 50,000 euros.
