Unlike “WandaVision” and “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, the new Marvel series “MODOK”, released May 21 on Disney +, will not be connected to the MCU.
A new Marvel production is coming to Disney + on May 21. Entitled MODOK, the animated series will follow the story of a simple technician who became a supervillain with extraordinary intelligence; her name MODOC means Mental Organism Designed Only for Computing, is Mental Body Designed Only for Computing in French.
Co-created and performed by Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille), the series MODOK however, will not be linked to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier have recently been. In an interview with ComicBook.com, showrunner Jordan Blum has confirmed that the series will take place in his own universe:
Marvel has some sort of database of all the universes in the multiverse, there’s a guy to handle this, and he let me pick our universe number. My movie’s birthday is December 26th, so our universe is 1226, and it’s great that we’re integrated into the Marvel Multiverse in this way.
Animated in stop-motion, the series MODOK, composed of ten episodes for its first season, is to be discovered exclusively on Disney Plus from May 21.
