A first trailer for the series “The Masters of the Universe – Revelation”, a direct sequel to the cult cartoon “The Masters of the Universe”, was unveiled this night by Netflix.

The Masters of the Universe, the return! The famous franchise derived from Mattel toys, with five animated series and a feature film in particular, has a facelift with the launch on July 23 on Netflix of a brand new original production.

Entitled Masters of the Universe – Revelation, the animated series designed by Kevin Smith (Clerks) will be a direct sequel to previous license productions. A first trailer revealed last night by Netflix also confirmed that the kitsch tone of previous cartoons will be retained by this new series.

On the casting side, the original voices have not been kept by Netflix: Chris Wood (Supergirl) plays Musclor, Mark Hamill is the big bad Skeletor while Sarah Michelle Gellar lends her voice to the goddess Teela; Lena Headey, Alicia Silverstone and Justin Long completely vocalized the program in English.

The first part of season 1 – consisting of 5 episodes – of the animated series Masters of the Universe – Revelation can be found exclusively on Netflix from July 23.
