Musclor and his companions are back soon. Those nostalgic for the 1980s will find The Masters of the Universe, adapted from Matel figurines, in a brand new animated series called Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which follows on from the cult cartoon.
Created by Kevin Smith, this new iteration of the adventures of Musclor and his companions was imaged by the animation studio Powerhouse, to whom we already owe Castlevania. Expected by fans, Masters of the Universe: Revelation finally has a release date. According to Deadline, the first part of 5 episodes will be available on July 23 on Netflix.
In addition to this announced date, images of the animated series have been unveiled. If the first visuals are enticing, so is the vocal casting. Mark Hamill doubles Skeleton, Chris Wood lends his voice to Prince Adam, Lena Headey plays Evil-Lyn, Sarah Michelle Gellar plays Teela, Liam Cunningham plays Man-At-Arms and Alicia Silverstone plays Double Queen Marlena.
We also find Justin Long who lends his voice to Roboto, Kevin Conroy who plays Mer-Man and Kevin Michael Richardson who plays Beast Man. Finally, Jason Mewes plays Stinkor.
In these new Masters of the Universe episodes, the Guardians of Castle Graysull are scattered after a cataclysmic battle between Musclor and Skeletor. As Eternia’s realm is fractured, Teela will have to reunite the gang, despite the secrets that tear them apart, in order to save the universe.
