Long awaited, season 3 of “Master of None”, whose filming was done in the greatest discretion, will focus on the character of Denise, played by Lena Waithe.
Netflix created a surprise by unveiling its program for the month of May: Master of None returns with its season 3. Four years after the previous one, this new burst of episodes has long been awaited by fans, who began to despair of not see the series make a comeback. Small novelty, the character played by Aziz Ansari will not be at the center of the plot and will give way to Denise, brought to the screen by comedian, actress and screenwriter Lena Waithe.
The decision to oust Dev, the hero of the first two seasons, follows accusations against Aziz Ansari for engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior towards a young woman. The latter testified in 2018, just a few months after the explosion of the #MeToo movement and more specifically of the Harvey Weinstein affair. Over a year later, the author has returned to the limelight with a new stage show, titled Aziz Ansari: Right Now, in which he returns to the controversy.
At the beginning of January 2021, the media Chortle claimed that the filming of season 3 of Master of None was to begin in the spring of 2020, before being finally delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The action of this new chapter should take place in London. A new recruit will appear: Naomi Ackie, future Whitney Huston in the biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody. The actress is expected to play Dev’s new love affair.
