Marvel: titles for Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2, dates for Ant-Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3

The official titles of “Black Panther 2” and “Captain Marvel 2”, the first images of Chloe Zhao’s “Eternals”, the release dates of “Ant-Man 3” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”: Marvel has gave information on his next films on video!

While its second series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, has just ended on Disney +, Marvel Studios is taking the next step: its return to theaters. It will be with Black Widow, on July 7 at home, but not only.

Because several films are already in the pipes, starting with Eternals by Chloé Zhao, recent winner of the Oscar for Best Director thanks to Nomadland, and of which we are finally offered some images thanks to this long trailer focused on the future of the MCU where the voice of Stan Lee resonates.

Worn by Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, but also Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Brian Tyree Henry or Kit Harington, Eternals is expected on our screens on November 3rd.

In front of the camera of Chloe Zhao, to whom Kevin Feige is full of praise, we will discover the cosmic part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanks in particular to the Eternals of the title, who belong to an ancient race of human beings and try to protect the Earth from Deviants, their evil counterparts.

Among the few images unveiled, while waiting for a longer trailer, we will note this shot of Salma Hayek on horseback, which appears straight out of The Rider, Chloe Zhao’s previous film about a rodeo champion forced to give up competitions after an accident. What if the director had really succeeded in imposing her style in what is shaping up to be one of the blockbusters of the fall?

Spider-Man – No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor – Love and Thunder will follow next, in December 2021, March 2022 and May 2022 respectively. And that’s after the revelations begin.

As many suspected, Black Panther 2 will be called Black Panther – Wakanda Forever. Expected on July 6, 2022, the feature film will still be directed by Ryan Coogler, who will not be able to count on the late Chadwick Boseman.

Insofar as the actor will not be replaced (neither by a comedian, nor by a digital double), the question of the legacy of T’Challa should be one of the major issues of the story. And the title seems to confirm it.

Filming is slated to begin in July and last for six months, so the casting will soon be officially announced. Which could then give us some indications on the identity of the one who will take over the Black Panther outfit.

Don’t call him Captain Marvel 2 anymore but … The Marvels. Since its creation in 1967, the superhero has had several alter egos, both men and women. And the film by Nia DaCosta (director of the new Candyman, who succeeds the duo Anna Boden – Ryan Fleck) should bring together at least two.

Either Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris, seen in WandaVision), joined by Khamala Khan (Iman Vellani), who will make his Disney + debut, in the Ms. Marvel series, before taking to the big screen. . If the show, which is currently filming, does not yet have a broadcast date, it will be visible before the film, which is scheduled for release on November 9, 2022.

On the side of Ant-Man 3, we already knew the title, Quantumania, which evokes the quantum dimension that the heroes should once again be confronted with. But here is its release date: February 17, 2023 in the United States. And probably two days before in France, as for almost all Marvel productions.

Already at the controls of the first two parts, Peyton Reed will pass the third behind the camera. Still with Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer, who joined the adventure in the second episode.

Seen in Da 5 Bloods and Lovecraft Country, Jonathan Majors will play the villainous Kang the Conqueror, able to travel in time and duplicate in the multiverse. Thanks to the quantum dimension for example?

Again, the title was already known. And for good reason: James Gunn still opted for the notion of “Volume” with Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Fired by Disney, following the exhumation of controversial tweets, then recalled by the studio, the director announced that filming would begin this year. And the entire cast will be back, with the exception of Michael Rooker, whose Yondu character will not be resurrected.

Expected on May 5, 2023 in the United States, at the same time as episode 2 in 2017, Guardians of the Galaxy – Volume 3 will be preceded, a few months earlier, by a Holiday Special: a Christmas TV movie intended for Disney + and which will link Thor – Love and Thunder (in which the heroes will appear, since they left with the God of Thunder at the end of Avengers Endgame) and their upcoming adventure.

Finally, note that the video ends with the Fantastic 4 logo, already revealed, as a project, during the day devoted to Disney investors last December, and where many announcements had been made. Including that of this reboot entrusted to Jon Watts (Spider-Man – Homecoming and its two sequels).

Does his presence in this montage indicate that the feature will be released in the second half of 2023? In the heart of summer, just to complete Phase IV with a project that includes the same number in its title? Case to follow.
