No action, brawl or thriller scenes here. Neeson father puts away his fists and weapons to camp a painter in mourning after the death of his wife. A family drama that speaks to us of forgiveness, all under the Italian sun.

Made in Italy celebrates the Dolce Vita in passing: an impression of sweetness runs through the film, and even if it is not full of action, the script touches us with its humility. Father and son were also particularly touched by the script of the film, imagined by actor James d’Arcy (Jarvis at Marvel) who is directing his first feature film here.

Both saw resemblances to their own history. In 2009, actress Natasha Richardson (Neeson’s wife and Micheál’s mother) died after a skiing accident. Micheál Richardson will tell in this interview given to Vanity Fair :

“He gave me the script, telling me I had to read it. He didn’t say anything more. The parallel with our life was so apparent, that I had the impression that my mother – on a spiritual level – had participated in it ”. A cathartic film that allows us to see an even more touching facet of Liam Neeson.

Casting side, the two actors also give the answer to Lindsay Duncan and Valeria Bilello. Made in Italy can be found on MyCanal.
