As of June 4, the Apple TV + platform will unveil its new series, Lisey’s Story, the adaptation of the eponymous book by Stephen King, which signs the screenplay for the eight episodes. Known to be the author’s most personal work, the book follows the fate of Lisey, a bereaved woman played by Julianne Moore, who descends into the most terrifying secrets of her late, successful writer husband, played by Clive. Owen.

JJ Abrams produces the program, while Pablo Larraín – who is currently preparing a biopic on Princess Diana with Kristen Stewart – is realizing it. In the casting, Julianne Moore and Clive Owen are surrounded by Dane DeHaan in the shoes of a deranged fan; by Jennifer Jason Leigh and Joan Allen who will play the sbear by Lisey; or Ron Cephas Jones in the role of a disturbing man who wants at all costs to recover the unpublished writings of the deceased author. Two episodes will air every Friday.

Asked by Vanity Fair, Stephen King explains that it is not a “simple story“. The Master of Anguish wrote the first lines of Lisey’s Story on his discharge from hospital following pneumonia in 2003. Three years later, the novel was published. It is rare for the author himself to participate in the writing of an adaptation of one of his books. With the series Lisey’s Story, he hopes viewers “will understand the secrets hidden there“and that they will be captivated by this intrigue which oscillates between the thriller and the paranormal.
