Present in the series since season 3, and promoted regular from the following season, Matt Ryan will say goodbye to the character of John Constantine at the end of the sixth round of episodes currently offered across the Atlantic. But the British actor is not leaving the series for all that, since he will take on a brand new regular role next season!

“As Constantine’s story arc in the series comes to a close in Season 6, Matt Ryan’s journey with the Legends is not over.”, revealed Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Phil Klemmer before announcing that Matt Ryan would lend his features in season 7 to Doctor Gwyn Davies, an early 20th century scientist who may well be “the team’s only hope for next season”.

“The time has come for John to say goodbye to the Legends, and for me to say goodbye to John”, said Matt Ryan during this panel devoted to Legends of Tomorrow. “I’m really, really excited to create this new role on the show and have fun with him. Finding out where he fits and how he’s going to be able to cause trouble at the Legends.”.

The Legends of Tomorrow production also took advantage of this panel at Comic-Con to reveal that Amy Louise Pemberton, who has been lending her voice to Gideon, the Waverider’s Artificial Intelligence for six seasons, would play for the first time a Gideon in flesh and bone in season 7.
