Dominic Purcell, alias Heat Wave, announced via an Instagram post that he would say goodbye to “Legends of Tomorrow” at the end of season 6 before changing his mind a few hours later …
While the broadcast of season 6 of Legends of Tomorrow begins on May 2 in the United States, Dominic Purcell, who plays Mick Rory alias Heat Wave, announced his departure from the series… well almost.
On Friday night, the actor who rose to prominence in Prison Break, posted on his Instagram a post today deleted, announcing that he was going to say goodbye to Legends of Tomorrow at the end of season 6, no matter how much money the studios could offer him.
“The contract is not finished, he wrote in the original post. “I have no interest in leaving. Whatever money they offer me. I’m leaving @cw_legendsoftomorrow. It was a real pleasure and an incredible chance to bring the iconic character of @dccomics #heatwave (aka) MICK RORY to life. I tore at myself as this character – no actor in the world could have done better. “
In an update, released on Saturday, Dominic Purcell explained, however, that the initial message “a joke and the press went crazy”.
The comedian has since clarified the situation by revealing that he will be making appearances in season 7 of Legends of Tomorrow. “The truth is yes I am leaving @cw_legendsoftomorrow but I will come back periodically”, He added in another Instagram post also deleted since.
This is not the first time that Dominic Purcell announces his departure. Last February, just days after the announcement of the renewal of the DC Comics series, he declared, still in a now deleted Instagram post, that he would say goodbye to his character at the end of season 7 at the when his contract would end.
The future of Heat Wave is therefore uncertain for the moment, while season 6 of Legends of Tomorrow starts in a few days on the CW.
