La Casa de Papel: who is Inspector Sierra’s husband?

Have you seen season 4 of “La Casa de Papel” on Netflix? You might like this theory around Inspector Alicia Sierra …

Attention, the following paragraphs contain spoilers on season 4 of La Casa de Papel. If you don’t want to know anything, don’t read the following!

If you binge-watche season 4 of La Casa de Papel on Netflix, you inevitably wondered about the personal life of inspector Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri), while the character revealed a major secret in one of the episodes.

In a tense scene in which she appears alongside Colonel Tamayo (Fernando Cayo) and Lisbon (Itziar Ituño), Sierra reveals that her husband – whom she calls “Alemão”- died, making her a pregnant widow. Therefore, like several sub-plots of the series, this question was left open at the end of season 4 to, perhaps, be resolved in the games following.

He is dead. Pancreatic cancer. The kind of cancer where they say you have two months and it’s really two months.

Always provocative and ill-intentioned, Sierra revealed for the first time a weak point and a more sentimental aspect of her personality, revealing that her husband had died of cancer a few months earlier. It was enough for theories to emerge around the identity of the deceased husband, and one of them imagines that Berlin (Pedro Alonso) could be this mysterious companion. A track already mentioned on AlloCiné in July 2019.

Indeed, what if Sierra evoked the name “Alemão”, which translates to “German”, to hide the nickname of Berlin, borrowed obviously from the capital of the country? We also remember that in the first seasons, the character was carried away by a mysterious illness that has not (yet) been revealed.

This theory goes further, assuming that Sierra would actually be Tatiana (Diana Gómez): Berlin would have survived secretly at the end of season 2, found Tatiana who would then have become pregnant with him, before discovering his cancer and being carried away by illness. An alternative theory is that Alicia is not pregnant, and uses this subterfuge to conceal her marriage to Berlin.

What do you think of these assumptions? Will they be part of the tracks and questions explored in season 5 of La Casa de Papel?
