The “Kaamelott” series, although very well written by Alexandre Astier, is not free from errors and inconsistencies, in particular involving the owl’s ass and the character of Perceval, beloved by fans.
If the first part of Kaamelott the film is still pushed back, the elle series, is available on the new French platform Salto via the 6ter channel replay. The opportunity to see and review the episodes of the show once thought of as a replacement for Camera Café on M6, but now much more than that.
By the admission of its creator Alexandre Astier, season 1 of Kaamelott contains inconsistencies with the rest of the series. Indeed, this first burst of episodes was not necessarily supposed to have a sequel, so elements have fallen through the cracks. This is evidenced in particular by this scene from episode 57, entitled Raise fifteen.
The innkeeper and Karadoc want to play nice, but Perceval (Franck Pitiot) must have the game explained to him. He does not know the rules or the name: “About what ?” he repeats tirelessly so that he can be initiated into the basics of this dice game.
However, in episode 5 of season 6 (located chronologically before season 1), Perceval plays owl with his grandmother and two other people, except that he knows the game inside out. It is even he who explains the rules to the other players. His grandmother (Marthe Villalonga) does not agree with his explanations. No doubt the famous “Aquitaine rules” …
Either way, this little inconsistency will be easily forgiven given the rest of the series and how well it was written. In addition, it is not impossible that this head in the air of Perceval forgot that he knew the game … there will always be an explanation found by the fans of the first hour!
