Justice League on OCS: what would the sequels of Zack Snyder’s film have been talking about? – Cinema News

On the occasion of the broadcast on OCS of the film “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”, here is what could have looked like the continuations of the film DC Comics which will – probably – never see the light of day.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League film Zack Snyder’s Justice League release last March on HBO Max proved that you should never give up hope that the wildest dreams may one day come true. At the end of a campaign led by fans on social networks, the director’s cut of the feature film DC Comics had finally been able to be broadcast, thus allowing Zack Snyder to rehabilitate his work with spectators.

Despite the success of this new assembly of Justice League, the leaders of the Warner Brothers studios do not seem nevertheless decided to restart the projects of continuation, supposed to offer to the franchise DC Comics a titanic two-part feature film in the vein of an Avengers Endgame.

The epilogue of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, shot for the needs of this new montage, offers a glimpse of these suites; in a post-apocalyptic world, Batman forms an alliance with other heroes, but also mortal enemies (Deathstroke and the Joker, in particular) to fight against Superman, past on the dark side.

How to explain that the Man of Steel has become a villain? Zack Snyder’s Justice League has provided some answers to this question: resuscitated through one of the Mother Boxes, Superman’s return to life is not without consequences. We also remember that Cyborg, warned by the onboard computer of the Kryptonian ship, tried to interrupt the maneuver, before a fall of Flash accidentally completed the resurrection plan.

Amnesiac at first, the alter-ego of Clark Kent has finally found his senses to lead the attack front against Steppenwolf, underling of the terrifying Darkseid, equivalent of Thanos for the franchise DC Comics.

Batman seals a pact with the Joker played by Jared Leto.

Like in the famous comic-book Injustice, Justice League 2 and 3 would therefore have depicted the dystopian future of a world torn apart by the fratricidal war of a Superman who became a killing machine, and of a Batman as the leader of human resistance. A fight to the death, which would certainly have made you forget the memory of the previous clash of the two characters in the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of justice.

These suites would also have been the occasion for an unprecedented reunion of the greatest heroes. DC Comics. If the most emblematic characters of the publishing house appeared in the first part of Justice League, others would have joined the fight during the sequels: the name of Green Lantern is for example obvious, just like that of Ryan Choi (The Atom), introduced in the film as actor Zheng Kai.

Crossings with the bad guys from Suicide Squad and the heroines of Birds of Prey could also have seen the light of day, so why not with characters from the Arrowverse series: we also remember that Ezra Miller had made a surprise appearance in the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths to give rise to a historic encounter with the other interpreter of the Flash superhero, Grant Gustin.

The film Zack Snyder’s Justice League – and its unpublished black and white version Justice is Gray – can be viewed on the OCS on-demand platform.
