Please note, the following details the outcome of the film Zack Snyder’s Justice League. If you have not seen it and do not want to know anything about its content, then it is strongly recommended that you stop reading this article now.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the new version of the film DC Comics, is available on OCS on demand since Wednesday, May 19. In addition to a revised post-production and the addition of cut scenes to the editing of the cinema version, this director’s cut offers a completely new ending born from the reshoot supervised by Zack Snyder.
This new ending plunges the heroes DC in a nightmarish world, when Superman appears to have become an agent of evil. To ward off the threat, alliances have been formed with former enemies such as Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) but also the Joker played by Jared Leto.
As we know, this unprecedented ending was shot by Zack Snyder to offer viewers a glimpse of what would have been the follow-up to his film. Justice League ; an epilogue that also echoes the nightmarish visions of Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman, as well as the appearance of Flash from the future, warning Batman’s alter-ego of imminent danger.
The Flash’s time travel scene in the Batman v Superman movie:
But how did this apocalyptic future come to be? A scene from Justice League precisely involving the Flash superhero would be the starting point for this situation. In the Kryptonian ship, Cyborg tries to prevent Superman’s resurrection, being warned of the consequences that such an action could have on the future by the on-board computer.
In vain, since Flash – dragged down by a fall – completes the operation set up to bring the Man of Steel back to life. Again himself after a brief amnesia, Superman takes part in the fight against Steppenwolf and offers a first victory in the war which is announced against the big bad of the franchise. DC : Darkseid.
Justice League: what are the main differences between the two versions of the DC movie?
This intervention seems to be at the origin of the terrible consequences glimpsed in this final sequence, inspired by the famous comic-book Injustice: The gods are among us (Urban Comics editions) which depicts the Man of Steel as a bloodthirsty tyrant. As in the comic, Superman would have become an enemy for the heroes DC Comics if the consequences of Justice League had seen the light of day.
However, nothing is less certain for the moment. Despite the success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League When it was launched on HBO Max, the policy of Warner studios did not seem to have changed: it is now non-connected films that have priority over multi-faceted franchises (decision taken following the triumph encountered by Joker with Joaquin Phoenix) .
It therefore seems unlikely that the second parts of Justice League may see the light of day in the near or distant future, although Zack Snyder has repeatedly declared himself available to direct them. But let’s not forget that after all, the sign “S” of Superman is synonymous on Krypton with the word “hope”…
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is now available on the OCS on-demand platform, as well as in its all-new black and white version, Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Justice is Gray.
