CANAL + will launch on Monday the shooting of “Infiniti”, its new original creation with Céline Sallette and Daniyar Alshinov, in which a French astronaut will join forces with a Kazakh cop in order to solve a strange investigation.
CANAL + has just announced the start of filming of its new original creation Infiniti, a mini-series produced by Empreinte Digitale and Fédération Entertainment Belgium, the shots of which will take place in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and France. Composed of 6 episodes of 52 minutes, this thriller, shot in Russian, English and French, is directed by Thierry Poiraud, who previously worked on Zone Blanche. Stéphane Pannetier and Julien Vanlerenberghe, both of whom were screenwriters on Research Section and The Red Shadows, are responsible for writing.
The pitch: the ISS, the International Space Station, is no longer responding. Its crew is in distress. At the same time, a decapitated and waxed corpse was found on a roof in Kazakhstan. The identification is formal: it is Anthony Kurz, an American astronaut currently on a mission in the ISS. Anna Zarathi, a French astronaut excluded from the space program, and Isaak Turgun, a Kazakh cop disowned by his hierarchy, will try to resolve this strange paradox …
Casting side, this breathtaking investigation, which will pit the beauty of the Kazakh steppes against the frozen eternity of space, will be led by Céline Sallette, a regular at the channel since she has already worked with them for The flame, Vernon Subutex and Ghosts. She will be accompanied by Daniyar Alshinov, an actor of Kazakh origin, who notably played in the film A Dark-Dark Man. By their side, CANAL + brought together an international distribution by calling on Vlad Ivanov (Whistlers, Snowpiercer), Lex Shrapnel (The Medici: Masters of Florence), Karina Arutyunyan (The Legends Office), Anatolii Panchenko (The Legends Office), Ellora Torchia (The Cowboys, Misommar), Laurent Capelluto (Moloch, Into The Night), Jarreth Merz (Six, Titans) and Samal Yeslyamova.
