“HPI” is a real phenomenon on TF1. Which managed to do almost as well as the finale of “Dolmen” with its 3rd episode. The opportunity to look back on the best fiction audiences of the past 16 years, all channels combined.
Nothing seems to be able to stop the Morgane Alvaro tornado. After a first episode, broadcast on April 29 on TF1, which succeeded in bringing together 11.5 million viewers on D + 7 (replay included), the police series HPI, led by Audrey Fleurot, managed to make even better with its 3rd episode, offered a week later.
Entitled “Colin-Maillard”, this third episode of the first season of HPI has indeed approached a record over 15 years old, totaling 12.4 million curious on D + 7, with a gain of 1.86 million. viewers thanks to catching up in replay on MyTF1. Which is none other than the best fiction audience on French television since the final of the Dolmen summer saga, with Ingrid Chauvin and Bruno Madinier, in July 2005.
While the last two episodes of season 1 of HPI will be broadcast tonight on TF1 – before a season 2 expected in 2022 – we invite you to discover the Top 10 of the best audiences achieved by fictions on French television since 2005, all chains combined. With a lot of Dolmen and HPI in the ranking, which shows how historic the success of the series worn by Audrey Fleurot and Mehdi Nebbou is.
The top 10 fiction since 2005

Beyond showing the domination of TF1 at the level of the television audiences of the last sixteen years (since all the episodes of Dolmen appear in the Top alongside HPI and the mini-series Marie Besnard, the poisoner with Muriel Robin), this ranking also recalls how exceptional HPI audiences are, and almost from another time.
It should also be remembered that the scores of the new TF1 police series present in this Top include the replay seven days after the broadcast of an episode, which is not the case for Dolmen and Marie Besnard, and for a very simple reason. The TF1Vision service, which offered the French to review some of the channel’s programs, was only launched at the end of 2005, before a wider catch-up offer, via MyTF1, a few years later.
In short, consumption habits have changed and have an effect on audiences, but HPI’s standby audience scores (without replay) are just as phenomenal. However, they remain exceptional and do not detract from the success of series such as Le Bazar de la charité (6.8 million viewers for its launch at the end of 2019), La Promesse (7.1 million followers on average over the six episodes), or even The Substitute, which attracted 6.6 million curious visitors with its pilot in April. Scores that certainly do not include this Top 10, but that we do not see every day on the small screen.
