House of the Dragon the incredible transformation of the interpreter

He was a fan favorite in House of the Dragon but his fate was sealed. Despite the sadness of the fans, the interpreter of Harwin Strong paid tribute to his character for which he has greatly transformed. Warning, spoilers.

Warning, spoilers. It is recommended that you have seen the first six episodes of House of the Dragon before continuing to read this article.

In a few episodes of House of the Dragon, Harwin Strong (or Harwin Fort in French) has become a real fan favorite. This character is a knight of House Fort and the heir of Harrenhal. Eldest son of Lord Lyonel Fort and brother of Larys Fort, Harwin is reputed to be the strongest man in the Seven Kingdoms.

While he only had a few standout appearances in the first five episodes of the Game of Thrones spin-off, Harwin was a big part of the sixth episode. He indeed became the lover of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma d’Arcy) and the biological father of her children, Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey.

Obviously, these bastards, who are passed off as the offspring of Laenor Velaryon, husband of Rhaenyra, are at the heart of all the gossip within the kingdom. And it is precisely this subject that is tackled in the sixth episode, which jumped in time by 10 years compared to episode 5.

But the hidden idyll between Rhaenyra and Harwin suddenly ends when her brother Larys has him killed alongside his father, after he was forced into exile in Harrenhal after fighting with Criston Cole. Larys did this to curry favor with Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke), in a cold war with Rhaenyra, and to better manipulate her.

The incredible transformation of the interpreter of Harvey

House of the Dragon fans are greatly saddened to already have to say goodbye to Harwin Strong, who had become one of their favorite characters, especially for the chemistry he had with Princess Rhaenyra and for his charisma and physique. imposing.

But do you know who is hiding behind this knightly build and this long hair? An Australian actor who has long been a child and teen star. This is Ryan Corr, whom you’ve seen in the series The Sleepover Club, Packed to the Rafters and Blue Water High: Surf Academy and in the movies Max and the Wild Things, Wolf Creek 2 and Thou Shalt Not Kill.

Translation: “Harwin Strong here, Bonebreaker there, what about Sheng from Silversun? What about Eric from Blue Water High? What about Coby from Packed to the Rafters ??? Never forget your roots.”

We can say that Ryan Corr has changed a lot since adolescence and that even at 33 years old he has changed a lot for the role of Harwin Strong. And he can say thank you to the pandemic since the actor entrusted to NewIdea that he let his hair grow during confinement and that his look helped him land the role of Harwin Strong:

“It was kind of funny because when that role came into my life, I hadn’t cut my hair in maybe two and a half years, right? So, you know, that role of Game of Thrones got to me and I got out of bed and they were like ‘oh great, you look like you’re from Middle Earth’.”

Although it is sad to say goodbye to his character, Ryan Corr has done everything to make him memorable in the eyes of the spectators as he explained to Insider :

“We always knew Harwin had a limited time on the show. I spoke with Ryan [Condal] and Miguel [Sapochnik] at the start on how to create maximum impact. I remember Ryan telling me about the Red Viper[OberynMartell)PedroPascal’scharacterinthefirstseriesandhowhewasonlythereforalimitedtimebuthisresonancethroughtheserieslasted”[OberynMartell)lepersonnagedePedroPascaldanslapremièresérieetdufaitqu’iln’étaitlàquepouruntempslimitémaisquesarésonanceàtraverslasérieaduré”
